The Effect of Integrated Self-Efficacy Program on Social Functioning of Persons with Schizophrenia

Purpose: To study the effect of the integrated self-efficacy program on social functioning of persons with schizophrenia.
Design: Quasi-experimental research.
Method: The sample were persons with schizophrenia in patient 40 persons who met the inclusion criteria and received service at In-patient Suansaranrom Psychiatric Hospital. Divided into the experimental group and the control group, 20 schizophrenic patients. Research instruments comprised of 1) The integrated self-efficacy program 2) personal patient’s record 3) scale on social functioning scale and 4) Assessment of self-efficacy in management. All instruments were verified for content validity by professional experts. Data were analyze using descriptive statistics and t-test.
Result: Social Functioning of experimental group after received the The integrated self-efficacy program was significantly better than that before receiving the program at p .05 and Social Functioning of experimental group was significantly better than control group at p .05
Conclusion: Health workers should apply the integrated self-efficacy program to promote patient social functioning to return to the community.
