THE EFFECT OF SELF - MANAGEMENT AND FAMILY PARTICIPATION PROGRAM VIA APPLICATION ON MEDICATION ADHERENCE OF PEOPLE WITH SCHIZOPHRENIA IN THE COMMUNITY.

Purpose:To study the effect of self-management and family participation program via application on medication adherence of patients with schizophrenia in the community.
Design:Quasi-experimental research pretest-posttest control group.
Methods:The sample were people with schizophrenia in the community and their family, selected by inclusion criteria, equally randomly assigned to an experimental group and a control group with 23 subjects in each group. The experimental group received the self-management and family participation program via application for 5 weeks. The control groups received regular nursing care. The research instrument was: The self- management and family participation program via application. Data were collected by using a questionnaire on medication adherence behaviors of patients with schizophrenia. The CVI was 1 The Cronbach’s alpha coefficients was .85 Data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics and t-tests.
Result: The medication adherence behavior of people with schizophrenia in the community after received the self-management and family participation program via application was significantly higher than that before at the .05 level and the medication adherence behavior of patient with schizophrenia in the community after received the self-management and family participation program via application was significantly higher than those who received regular nursing care at the .05 level
Conclusion:The implementation of a self-management and family participation program via a mobile application significantly improved medication adherence behaviors among patients with schizophrenia, in line with the research hypothesis. These findings suggest that such a program can effectively support and promote sustained medication adherence in patients with schizophrenia living in the community.
