Abstract

Purpose: to study factors affecting the COVID-19 preventive behaviors among the Elderly.

Design: Descriptive predictive research

Methods: Samples were 384 Elderly who lived in Ubon Ratchathani province. Samples were selected by the Multistage random sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires: demographic data form, Planned behavior Interview, Health literacy Interview and the COVID-19 preventive behaviors Interview. Data were analyzed using stepwise multiple regression.

Results: The finding revealed that 1) the elderly had a high level of the COVID-19 preventive behaviors ( = 54.51, SD=7.91),2) the significant predictors of the COVID-19 preventive behaviors included Health literacy (Beta= .515, p < .001), and Behavior Intention (Beta = .365, p < .001 ) was able to predict the COVID-19 preventive behaviors of the elderly at 61.80 percentages.

Conclusion: Result findings can provide an evidenced data for the development of
the program to promote the COVID-19 preventive behaviors of the elderly
