Overview
The Journal of Nursing Research, Innovation, and Health is an academic journal that has continuously published research articles and academic papers since 1989. The journal is supported by an editorial board composed of distinguished experts from a wide range of institutions.
At present, the journal has been evaluated and indexed in the Thai Journal Citation Index (TCI) at Tier 3. It is published and disseminated through Thai Journals Online (ThaiJO) and Chulalongkorn Journal Online (CUJO), providing broad accessibility to readers.
Object
The Journal of Nursing Research, Innovation, and Health is an academic journal dedicated to publishing high-quality research and scholarly works based on evidence-based principles. The journal reflects the roles of nursing science, health sciences, and health innovation in the development of national health policies and healthcare systems. The objectives of the journal are as follows:
- To collect and disseminate evidence-based knowledge that can be applied to improving the quality of nursing practice, health service delivery, health system management, and the development of innovations addressing health problems of the Thai population and society.
- To consider and make publication decisions based on academic quality, significance, originality, timeliness, and relevance to the aims and scope of the journal, free from bias.
- To promote academic collaboration among students, faculty members, researchers, scholars, and innovators in nursing and health sciences in generating knowledge, innovations, and policy recommendations that contribute to sustainable health system development.
Scope of Published Fields’ study
The journal considers high-quality research and academic articles based on evidence-based principles covering disciplines related to the development of nursing, health systems, and health innovation. The scope of published fields includes:
- Nursing Science and Specialized Nursing
- Public Health and Community Nursing
- Disaster Management and Health Emergency
- Health Innovation, Health Technology, and Digital Health
- Integrative and Complementary Medicine/Nursing Based on Evidence
- Behavioral Science, Mental Health, and Health Behavior
- Health System Management, Health Policy, and Quality of Health Services
Type of Article for Publishing
1. Research Article
A research article is derived from research reports, study findings, investigations, or theses and dissertations using primary data collected by the authors. The article presents research objectives, methodology, results, and discussion in a systematic manner following the structure of an academic research article. It aims to demonstrate academic value and practical implications for practice, policy, or health system development. The length of a research article is approximately 7–13 A4 pages.
2. Academic Article
An academic article is written based on the collection, analysis, and synthesis of knowledge from documents, literature, or relevant research on one or more topics in nursing and related health sciences. The article aims to present explanations, analyses, critiques, or academic concepts beneficial to professional development, nursing practice, and health systems. The length of an academic article is approximately 7–13 A4 pages.

Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo a systematic academic quality assessment in accordance with international standards through the following steps:
1. Initial Screening
The editorial board examines the completeness of the manuscript, its relevance to the aims and scope of the journal, formatting, and preliminary content quality. Manuscripts that do not meet the criteria may be returned for revision or rejected.
2. Plagiarism Check
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are checked for textual similarity using reliable plagiarism detection software according to the journal’s criteria. Manuscripts exceeding the acceptable similarity threshold may be returned for clarification, revision, or rejection.
3. Peer Review
Manuscripts are evaluated by at least three experts from both within and outside the institution who possess expertise relevant to the manuscript’s field, using a double-blind peer review process to ensure fairness, transparency, and impartiality.
4. Revision Process
Authors are required to revise their manuscripts in response to reviewers’ comments. One or more rounds of revision may be required as appropriate. Authors must submit a written response to the reviewers’ comments along with the revised manuscript within the specified timeframe.
5. Final Decision
The editorial board makes the final decision regarding acceptance, further revision, or rejection based on the revised manuscript and reviewers’ evaluations.

1.Publication fee for Faculty of Nursing lecturers
For academic or research articles in which a lecturer from the Faculty of Nursing is listed as the first author, the Faculty will waive the publication fee.

The Editorial Board of the Journal of Nursing Research, Innovation, and Health has a policy not to charge article processing fees and/or page charges, or membership fees from authors for the years 2026–2027 (B.E. 2569–2570).

Open Access Policy
The Journal of Nursing Research, Innovation and Health is an open access journal that provides free and unrestricted access to full-text academic articles without any charges to readers. This policy aims to promote the wide dissemination and accessibility of scholarly knowledge, support the exchange of evidence-based knowledge, and enhance the application of research findings in nursing practice, health systems, and public health policy development at both national and international levels.

Journal History
The Journal of Nursing Research, Innovation and Health is an academic journal dedicated to disseminating knowledge in nursing, health sciences, and health innovation based on evidence-based practice and sustainable health system development in both national and international contexts. The journal was formerly titled the Journal of Faculty of Nursing, Chulalongkorn University and officially adopted its current title starting from Volume 36, Issue 1 (January–April 2024) to reflect a renewed vision of being an open, modern academic platform that bridges knowledge to practice and health policy.
The journal was first published in December 1989 in celebration of the first anniversary of the establishment of the Faculty of Nursing, Chulalongkorn University (28 December 1989). Its original mission was to disseminate nursing knowledge and advancements to faculty members, professional nurses, and the general public, and it has continually evolved into an academic journal that supports the creation of new knowledge, interdisciplinary integration, and health innovation.
Over more than three decades, the journal has continuously refined its format and publication processes in accordance with international academic publishing standards. Currently, the journal is published biannually, with Issue 1 covering January–June and Issue 2 covering July–December, through an electronic journal system to enhance national and international accessibility and to strengthen its role as a platform for knowledge exchange in nursing, innovation, and health at both national and global levels.
