Functional Competency of Cardiovascular Nurses for Seamless Nursing Care Team; Case Study Nurse in Health District 12.

Abstract

Purpose: To assess the competencies of nursing roles among the personnel participating in the development project for seamless cardiac and vascular disease patient care from Health District 12.


Design: Descriptive study


Method: The sample were Cardiovascular Nurses for Seamless Nursing Care Team


involving 40 individuals from Health District 12. Data will be collected using a general information questionnaire and an assessment form for nursing competencies in the role of caring for seamless cardiac and vascular disease patients, developed by the Thai Heart Nurses Association. The reliability coefficient stands at 0.84. Analyzing the general data of the sample group, the competencies of nursing roles in caring for seamless cardiac and vascular disease patients by descriptive statistic.


Result: The average competency level of professional nurses in the role of caring for seamless cardiac and vascular disease patients is moderately high across various                         aspects, in the following order 1) Ability in patient’s assessment ,2) Ability in empowering strengths, 3) Ability in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation( CPR) practices, 4) Ability in patient medication management , and 5) Ability in nursing care provision and assistance in cardiac and vascular disease patient procedures without borders.


Conclusion: The average competency level of professional nurses in the role of caring for seamless cardiac and vascular disease patients without borders is moderately high across all individual aspects as well as overall.
