Abstract

Objectives: To study transcultural nursing outcome indicators in each aspect, and to study sub-indicators in each aspect of transcultural nursing outcome indicators
Research Design: Descriptive research using Delphi technique
Methods: There were three steps: firstly, all 18 selected experts, including nurse administrators, quality nurses, transcultural nursing professors and transcultural nursing experts, were interviewed to identify transcultural nursing outcome indicators through semi-structured interview and open-ended questions: secondly, the data gained from the first stage was analyzed the content in order to create rating scale questionnaire which experts gave some comment on the level of importance of each question: thirdly, experts' comment was calculated to find median and the interquartile range and then the questionnaire was sent to the experts for confirmation. After that, the data was computed for the median and the interquartile range to summarize the results.
Results: Transcultural nursing outcome Indicators were congruent with the experts with 31 items, namely 25 items with the highest level of importance and 6 with the high level of importance. These were classified into five categories as follows: 1) Patient Safety in transcultural nursing with 2 sub indicators; 2) Satisfaction in transcultural nursing service with 10 sub indicators; 3) The knowledge and understanding of health matter in transcultural nursing communication with 2 sub indicators; 4) Healthcare pathways based on belief aligning with the treatment plan with 12 sub indicators; and 5) Transcultural nursing to alleviate the suffering with 5 sub indicators. Conclusion: The results can be applied as a guideline for nursing administrators in determining appropriate transcultural nursing outcome indicators.
