Nurse’s Role for Promoting Adaptation into Adolescent Father’s Role -

Abstract

Male adolescents have a premature father’s role because of an unintended pregnancy. Most adolescent fathers are faced with a concurrent dual developmental crisis: being an adolescent and a new father. They encounter serious psychological problems and socioeconomic disadvantages. In this situation, adolescent fathers need support from significance others. Nurses in the antenatal clinics can play an important role for assistant adolescent fathers to accept this pregnancy, unborn baby and finally, they can adjust themselves in adolescent father’s role. This could contribute significantly to help mother and unborn baby for good quality of life in the pregnancy period.
