Abstract

This quasi-experimental research, two-group pretest-posttest design aimed to examine the effectiveness of a health literacy promotion program using LINE application on preterm labor prevention behaviors among primigravida. A sample of 50 primigravida, 24-34 weeks of gestation was randomly assigned to the experimental group (n = 25), which received the health literacy promotion program via the LINE application and the control group (n = 25). Data were collected using a preterm labor prevention behavior questionnaire, which demonstrated content validity at .97, and Cronbach's alpha reliability at .77. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics and t-tests.

The experimental group exhibited statistically significant higher preterm labor prevention behaviors after participating in the program compared to the control group, and showed significant improvement in preterm labor prevention behaviors from before to after the program (t = 3.05, 2.99; p < .01).

The health literacy promotion program using the LINE application effectively enhances preterm labor prevention behaviors among primigravida women. This program has potential applications in reducing the incidence of preterm births.
