Main Article Content
Abstract
Descriptive research aims to study the learning efficiency in education and the relationship between perceived self-esteem, the establishment of learners’ self-esteem recognition, and learning efficiency among nursing students in Bangkok. The sample, which includes 260 nursing students, is selected by using a simple random sampling method from 1st-4th level nursing students. Research instruments consist of a perceived self-esteem questionnaire, an establishment of learners’ self-esteem recognition questionnaire, and a learning efficiency questionnaire developed by the researcher with Cronbach’s alpha coefficients .84, .92, and .96, respectively. Data analysis using descriptive statistics and Pearson's Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. The results reveal that
1. Perceived self-esteem (M = 77.25, SD = 11.03), the establishment of learners’ self-esteem recognition (M = 35.45, SD = 6.68), and learning efficiency as a whole (M = 79.07, SD = 15.66) are moderate level consisted of academic knowledge (M = 25.57, SD = 5.03), work practice guidelines (M = 25.66, SD = 5.26), and the appropriate level is human relations (M = 27.78, SD = 6.42).
2. The research results indicate that perceived self-esteem and the establishment of learners’ self-esteem recognition are positively related to learning efficiency with statistical significance at p < .001 (r = .21 and .23, respectively). The study result should be applied to activities to promote learning efficiency by considering on development of perceived self-esteem, and the establishment of learners’ self-esteem recognition.
