The Relationships between Personal Factors, Attitude toward Evidence-based Practice and Information Technology Using for Evidence-based Nursing Practice among Nursing Students

Abstract
This descriptive study aimed to examine the relationships between personal factors, attitude towards EBP in nursing, and information technology (IT) use for evidence-based practice (EBP) in nursing among nursing students at Prachomklao College of Nursing. A proportionate stratified random sampling was used to select 120 nursing students to the study. Data were collected using a set of questionnaires, including attitude towards EBP in nursing, and IT use for EBP in nursing. Reliability was reported as Cronbach's alpha .95 and .97 respectively. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Chi-square test and the Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient. Results revealed that;
1. Nursing students reported IT use for EBP in nursing score at a high level (M = 4.09, SD = .66). Attitude towards EBP in nursing score was at a high level (M = 3.92, SD = .54).
2. There was a positive and significant correlation between the student college years, the number of academic search and IT use for EBP in nursing of nursing students (X2 = 78.37, 221.00, p < .01 respectively). Moreover, Pearson’s correlations indicated that there was a positive significantly correlation between attitude towards EBP in nursing and IT using for EBP in nursing (r = .90, p < .01).
This research indicated that educational institutions should promote evidence-based teaching and learning and allocate learning resources and information technology to facilitate the search and access of evidence-based information.
