Factors Related to the Result of the Nursing License Examination of Graduates Prachomklao College of Nursing, Phetchaburi Province

Abstract

This descriptive correlational research aimed to examine the factors related to the nursing license examination of nursing profession and midwifery registration of graduated nurses of Prachomklao college of nursing, Phetchaburi province. The sample were purposively recruited, comprised of 55 graduated nurses from the bachelor of nursing science program in 2016 academic years. Data were collected by four questionnaires including 1) personal data questionnaires, GPA and the result of license examination, 2) the preparation of license examination, 3) achieved motivation of license examination, and 4) physical environment for license examination. The Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was used to evaluate the reliability of the questionnaires. There were .90, .79, .91, and .90 respectively. The data were analyzed by Eta coefficient. The results were presented that the effecting factors of the curriculum average grade, the preparation of license examination, achieved motivation of license examination, and physical environment for license examination had statistically significant related to the result of the first time license examination of nursing and midwifery graduates (eta2 = .45, .25, .28, and .22, p < .01 respectively) The responsible administrators can use the results of this study to plan and improve teaching-learning methods, leading to enhance the capability of the nursing and midwifery graduates in first time license examination of nursing and midwifery.
