NURSING CARE OF DIABETIC RETINOPATHY IN DIABETES PATIENTS AND CENTER INVOLVED DIABETIC MACULAR EDEMA FOR RETINAL LASER UNDERGOING LASER BEAM: CASES STUDY 2 CASES

Background and rationale: Diabetic Retinopathy was a complication from Diabetes can cause loss of vision. There were 28 million people with vision loss out of the 415 million people with diabetes worldwide. Nurses therefore play an important role in providing proper health care to patients and their relatives, for patient is safe received standard care and be able to live happily.
Objectives: To study nursing care of diabetic retinopathy in diabetes patients and center involved diabetic macular edema for retinal laser undergoing laser beam in Khon Kaen Hospital.
Methodology: This study was case study. The sample group consisted diabetic retinopathy in diabetes patients and center involved diabetic macular edema for retinal laser undergoing laser beam of Ophthalmic examination room, Outpatient department, Specialty nursing division in Khon Kaen Hospital of 2 case using purposive sampling selection.
Results: The study results were found that 2 case both patients had a history of diabetes. Patients were admitted to the hospital with blurred vision in both eyes. Therefore, Screened for diabetic retinopathy with OCT Imp. PDR c DME BE. This is a strong point in reducing the risk of blindness in diabetic patients. Diagnosed with diabetic retinopathy proliferative diabetic retinopathy. The doctor considered laser retinal surgery on both sides of the eye with laser beam type Panretinal photocoagulation (PRP), can prevent severe vision loss. Nursing care of important patients must have nurses with expertise in specific fields, understand the pathology of disease, able to assess complications, give advice on proper behavior to patients and their relatives, follow up on symptoms and can provide assistance in a timely manner. By nursing care Gordon follows’s 11 health schemes.
Recommendations: Resulting use as a guideline for nursing patients with diabetic retinopathy and macular swelling from diabetes. For patient is safe received standard care and be able to live happily.
