Abstract

Pre-eclampsia is a complex abnormality that can potentially lead to severe health conditions for both the mother and the fetus. As such, it is crucial that the condition is assessed closely and managed appropriately. By analyzing a comparative case study of two different instances, readers can gain a better understanding of the various pathological conditions that may occur. The study also illustrates how nursing processes can be effectively utilized in the planning and administration of nursing care. This contributes to the development of knowledge and creates guidelines for future effective nursing care for pregnant women with hypertension. The results of the case study reveal marked differences in the severity of the pathological conditions between the two instances. The first case involved heart and vascular system failure, pulmonary edema, and heart failure, adversely affecting the fetus. Due to these complications arising at an early gestational age, the fetus, unfortunately, passed away during delivery. The second case involved abnormal liver function and the disintegration of red blood cells. These complications also affected the fetus, resulting in low birth weight and necessitating the premature termination of the pregnancy. However, in both cases, the mothers received secure care from expert physicians and midwives. Their use of nursing processes as guidelines for care ensured the safety of both the mothers and the babies.
