Supervision of the clinical supervisor and preceptor in nursing practice supervision of nursing student: challenges
Abstract
The roles of supervisors and mentors in nursing practice of nursing students consist of 5 roles: instructor, leader, facilitator, evaluator and a role model for nursing students. Practice Guidelines of Instructors and nurse mentors in nursing student supervision are as follows: 1. Orientation of nursing students before practicing on the ward. Emphasis is placed on preparing nursing students in theoretical knowledge and practical skills in nursing practice. Practicing nursing with a of the clinical supervisor and supervision of preceptor take care only. 2. Create a culture of safety in patient care to occur in the the clinical supervisor, supervision of preceptor and nursing students from the start of school until graduation. By integrating patient safety practices into practical teaching and learning. 3. the clinical supervisor and supervision of preceptor pre-conference with nursing students before practicing nursing on patient safety goals 4. the clinical supervisor and supervision of preceptor do not leave nursing students practice of nursing alone 5.In the event of an incidence of an error in nursing practice of students, the clinical supervisor and supervision of preceptor post-conference after nursing practice with students to review the incidence. analyze the cause and find ways to prevent. Even the clinical supervisor and supervision of preceptor will play a role and have such practice guidelines. But there were still mistakes in nursing practice among nursing students. Therefore, the challenges of the clinical supervisor and supervision of preceptor must reduce errors in nursing practice among students. or not to make mistakes in the nursing practice of nursing students by enhancing the perception of competence of their own in nursing practice for the safety of patients, attitude towards patient safety for nursing student and close supervision from both the clinical supervisor and supervision of preceptor.
