Developing a novice teacher: Rooted and sealed up the essence of nursing teaching (Part 1)

Abstract

Faculty of Nursing, Khon Kaen University was established as the first Faculty of Nursing in Thailand. This institution has served society for a long time, entering its 51st year. The story of development of the first group of new teachers, who were new graduates into nursing teachers who provided professional teaching, was an interesting historical record. This article presents as the first part to convey the historical story of the development of potential of the first-generation of nursing teachers of Faculty of Nursing. It is written by the three-term former Dean of the Faculty of Nursing for, Associate Professor Kalaya Patanasri, to record the past for not being lost with time. It is also part of the celebration of the 51st anniversary in taking part in transformation of Thai nursing education.
