Publishing Ethics

Journal of Nursing Science and Health is a scientific journal of the Faculty of Nursing, Khon Kaen University. It serves as a central forum aiming to share academic work and new knowledge relevant to nursing and health science with academics, researchers, and outsiders. Therefore, to maintain its accuracy, quality, and transparency as well as to keep consistency with international publication standards, the journal has a guideline covering three parts:

Part 1: Roles and Responsibilities of Authors

  1. The manuscript is an original work and has not been previously published.
  2. To present the research results, the authors must not manipulate to distort or fabricate the data.
  3. If the authors have used the work of others, citations must be given. A list of references must be written according to the journal’s format and be placed at the end of the manuscript.
  4. The authors should read “Author Guidelines” carefully in order to write the manuscript correctly.
  5. Each author whose name appears on the manuscript should significantly participate in conducting the research or writing the manuscript.
  6. All sources of research funding should be disclosed.
  7. Conflicts of interest must be specified (if any).

The authors must complete the Publication Submission Checklist, Journal of Nursing Science and Health, Faculty of Nursing, Khon Kaen University (for author) before submitting the manuscript.

 Part 2: Roles and Responsibilities of Editors

  1. The editors are responsible for determining the quality of all manuscripts that are published in the journal.
  2. The editors must keep all information of the authors and reviewers confidential during the review process of a manuscript.
  3. After the editorial review process, the editors should make the decision to select the manuscripts for publication based on significance, relevance, clarity and consistency of the content with the editorial policies.
  4. The editors must not accept any manuscripts that have been previously published and have conflicts of interest with authors, reviewers, and editorial management team.
  5. The editors must not reject to publish the manuscript because of doubt or uncertainty until there is evidence to prove the suspicion.
  6. The editors should use a reliable program to check plagiarism of the manuscripts.
  7. If plagiarism is detected, the editors will terminate the review process and immediately contact the corresponding author for clarification before making the decision to “accept” or “reject” the manuscript.

Part 3.  Roles and Responsibilities of Reviewers

  1. During the editorial review process, the reviewers must keep all information of the manuscript confidential.
  2. After receiving a manuscript from the editors, if the reviewers realize that they may have conflicts of interest with the authors, resulting from collaboration, relationship, connection, or other reasons that may lead to bias or inability to provide independent opinions and suggestions, they should notify the editors and refuse to review the manuscript immediately.
  3. The reviewers should review a manuscript based on its significance of the content in the relation to the field of study, the quality of analysis, and the intensity of results. Unsupported personal opinions should not be used as a basis for judging the manuscript.
  4. The reviewers should identify plagiarisms, if the authors do not provide citations. Also, if any part of the manuscript is identical with or duplicated from other articles, the reviewers must notify the editors immediately.
