The effect of behavioral change program for smoking cessation on smoking cessation among smokers in a risk group of cardiovascular diseases

This quasi-experimental research aimed to study the effect of behavioral change program for smoking cessation on smoking cessation among smokers in a risk group of cardiovascular diseases. Fifty-two smokers in risk group of cardiovascular diseases in Bannadoem, Suratthani were recruited. Smokers were divided into control group and experimental group, twenty-six each group. This program period for eight weeks. Data were analyzed using paired t-test and independent t-test. The results of the experiment revealed that decision balance in smoking, mean score of self-efficacy in smoking and behavior in smoking were statistically significantly better than before received the program and the control group (p < .001).
