Abstract

The study aimed to describe quality management, nursing practice to prevent ventilator associated pneumonia, patient outcomes, caregiver’s satisfaction, and the relationships among them. Samples were 58 nurses, 116 children who used ventilator, and 116 caregivers at pediatric critical care wards of SuppasittiprasongHospital. The results are as follow: The majority of nurses perceived quality management in moderate level.Nursing practices was in high level. Length of stay was 34.66, ventilator-day was 23.52, survival rate was 83.62%, and Ventilator associated pneumonia rate was 30.67 per 1,000 ventilator-day. Caregiver’s satisfaction was in high level. There were no relationship between quality management with nursing practice, nursing practice with patient outcomes and caregiver’s satisfaction.
