Abstract

Pain management during the 1st stage of labor is an important factor that influences birth outcomes and maternal-infant attachment/bonding. This academic article presents pain during labor, factors effecting pain, theory of labor pain, and update on non-pharmaceutical pain management in the 1st stage of labor.
