This one group of quasi-experimental research was studied the effect of clinical nursing practice guideline (CNPG) for preventing ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP) in neonatal intensive care unit. The CNPG for VAP was developed by the researcher using 7 steps of National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC). Data was analyzed by using percentage, frequency ,means, Chi-square and t-test. The result of this study revealed that 1)The CNPGs for VAP in NICU consisted of 7 steps 2) The nurses’s practice scores before and after followed by CNPGs were 52.81 to 73.09 (t = -5.971 ,p <0.001) 3) The observation of nurses’s practice scores before and after followed by CNPGs were 42.36 to 70.09 (t = -12.606 ,p<0.001) 4) Nurse’s opinions for using the CNPGs, were reported that all items in CNPGs are mean to use 4.2 of 5 scores 5) The incidence of VAP was decreased from 40 to 13.33 : 1,000 day of ventilator using.Downloads
