The Development of Compliance Therapy Program of Schizophrenia Patients with Substance Abuse in Changhan Hospital and Service Network

Abstract

Purposes : To study the develop a model and the effects of the Compliance Therapy Program of Schizophrenia Patients with Substance Abuse.

Study design : Action Research.

Materials and Methods : The sample group consisted of schizophrenia patients, 5 people who were diagnosed by a doctor according to ICD 10 or DSM-IV criteria. Proceeds in 3 steps/ 5 session were taken. The 5-week evaluation period between before treatments, And follow-up evaluation 1 month, and 3 months. Data was collected using a developed survey instrument and analyzed using both descriptive statistics and One-way Repeated Measures ANOVA) according to Bonferroni's method. Significance was set at the 0.05 level.

Main findings: 1) Regarding the treatment process, it was found that it can help patients change their thoughts and behavior to cooperate in continuous drug treatment. and come to receive medicine as scheduled during the follow-up period 2) Regarding the problems and obstacles in taking medicine before receiving treatment, it was found that patients had the attitude, Have unreasonable thoughts and beliefs Most of them thought that they were not sick. Tired of having to take medicine for a long time 3) Have cooperative behavior in treatment have knowledge about how to behave while taking medicine, After 1 month and 3 months of treatment, improvements were different from before treatment with statistical significance at the 0.05 level. 

Conclusion and recommendations : Application of Compliance Therapy Program help patients trust and cooperate in therapy, and change cooperative behavior in taking medicine for the better. Therefore, nurses and related health teams can apply the Compliance Therapy Program to patients with schizophrenia to prevent the recurrence of psychotic symptoms.
