The Development of Risk Managing in Nursing System in Inpatient Department, Changhan Hospital

Abstract

Purposes : To study the situation, develop the system, and evaluate results of risk managing system Inpatient department in Changhan Hospital.

Study design : Practical action research.

Materials and Methods : Total of  24 key informants were those involved in nursing risk management.Number. Research was divided into risk situation analysis, system development, and system evaluation. It was conducted from October 2022 to September 2023. Data were collected using questionnaires, observational forms, and evaluation forms. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and content analysis.

Main findings : 1) Risks in patient work over the past 3 years were found to be 150 times, with the majority having severity at level E, 53 times, followed by level F, 50 times, respectively, nurses lack knowledge and understanding about steps. Important episodes of risk management want to develop a risk management system that was easy to understand and involves all staff. The risk management system consists of 6 steps: (1) monitoring risks at every service point (2) developing personnel competency (3) creating a risk management tool (4) adjusting the environment to be conducive to risk management (5) Communicate risk management by coordinating cooperation through PCT. And (6) continuously monitor and exchange knowledge. 2) Nurses follow overall risk management guidelines. Accounting for 91.25 percent, overall satisfaction was at a high level and 3) after development, it was found that most of the risks that occurred were at the low risk level, moderate level, level D, the most, 11 times, followed by was level C, 6 times.

Conclusion and recommendations : This risk management system results in reduced risks. Therefore, inpatient work should be encouraged to bring this system to the area.
