Effect of Clinical Nursing Practice Guideline of Weaning in intensive care unit patients Detudom Crown Prince Hospital

Abstract

Weaning ventilation in patients is an important point in the intensive care unit at Detudom Crown Prince Hospital. If the weaning ventilation is unsuccessful, adverse effects with the patients will be dependent on the ventilation and more complicated.   Therefore, we did guideline of weaning in intensive care unit patients that may help these problems. The purposes of this study were to develop and study outcome of guideline of weaning in intensive care unit patients. This quasi - experimental study was needed by comparing between control group and experiment group. Samples were 30 patients with ventilation at intensive care unit patients at Detudom Crown Prince Hospital by purposive sampling. After using the guideline, data were collected in three months. Data analysis included frequency, percentage, mean, standard division, and Inferential Statistics. The results showed that, after using guideline of weaning in intensive care unit patients following evidence base, rate of success with weaning ventilation increased in experiment group. Although there were not significant about time of using ventilation and time of weaning ventilation (p= .057 and .13 respectively), both times decreased comparing control group. This study was basic information to continuing develop the guideline of weaning in intensive care unit patients at Detudom Crown Prince Hospital.
