A systematic nursing care model for patients with sepsis can lead to improved patient outcomes. This research and development aimed to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care model for sepsis patients. The study was conducted in three phases: 1) situational analysis and model development, 2) model testing and refinement, and 3) evaluation of the model’s effectiveness. The participants consisted of nursing executives, interdisciplinary team members, professional nurses, and patients with sepsis. The research instruments included: 1) patient medical record form, 2) in-depth interviews guide, 3) nurses’ knowledge for patient assessment form, 4) nurses’ satisfaction questionnaire regarding the nursing care model 5) nursing practice assessment form, and 6) nursing outcomes evaluation forms. The study was conducted from August 2023 to August 2024. Qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis, and quantitative data were analyzed using repeated measures ANOVA and Wilcoxon signed rank test. The results revealed that 1) the developed nursing model for sepsis patients consisted four components: capacity building for nurses, development of nursing practice guideline, establishment of a coordination system led by sepsis control nurses, and development of nursing outcome assessment; 2) nursing outcomes indicated that after using the model the professional nurses demonstrated statistically significant higher knowledge of nursing care for patients (p<.05) and reported high satisfaction with the nursing model (𝑥̅=4.08, SD=.72), and had statistically significant greater adherence to nursing practice guidelines (p<.001). 3) The patient care outcomes revealed that the incidence of septic shock decreased from 38.20 percent to 35.00 percent and the mortality rate decreased from 13.00 percent to 10.00 percent. The research results indicated that the developed nursing model is effective in improving the quality of care for patients with sepsis and contributes to better patient outcomes.
