About the Journal

The Journal of Nursing and Health Research (JNHR) (ISSN 2985-1343 (Online)) is published by the Boromarajonani College of Nursing Phayao. The journal has been approved by the Thai-Journal Citation Index Centre (TCI). It is published every four months (three issues annually). The journal aims to disseminate research and academic articles from faculty and researchers in nursing science and health-related disciplines, including systematic reviews, clinical practice guideline development, case studies, and nursing and health innovations. All submitted manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review by the editorial team and at least three experts.

Objectives:
1. To disseminate research and academic articles of faculties and researchers in nursing science and health related disciplines, as well as academic works of clinical nurses and post graduate students in nursing and other health related disciplines.
2. To serve as a platform for nursing knowledge exchanges, as well as for other health related science

Peer review process: Submitted articles have to verify against the article requirements and are to prepare according to the journal format style. Then the articles will be reviewed and evaluated by three experts in nursing and related health disciplines. The review process is double-blinded which means both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa, throughout the review process. Once reviewers finish evaluations, editorial team collect the comments and send to authors for revisions. It is the editorial team who makes the decision about the final disposition of a manuscript. The editor reserves the right to adjust the manuscripts to fit the style of the journal.

Journal history

1998-2012 Early period:  The Journal was first established in 1998, it was named “Journal of Boromarajonani College of Nursing Phayao” The first Editor- in- Chief was Ajarn Janya Kaewjaiboon.

2013-2019  Growth and change: The new editorial team improved the journal quality to prepare for wider audiences and online publications. The title of the journal was changed to “Journal of nursing, public health, and education”. The journal has changed its publication platform to online only. It was approved by the Thai-journal citation index center (TCI). The Editor- in-Chief during this period was Dr. Pannathorn Chatchawarat. The journal was approved by TCI for the Tier 1 group in 2017, however was deselected from Tier 1 to Tier 2 in 2019 during the 4rd round evaluation by the TCI.

2020-2021 Improvement and a step further: The team has improved the quality of the journal in many aspects. The title of journal has been changed again to be more specific and fit with health disciplines and scopes of the journal.  The new title is “Journal of nursing and health research” The Editor- in-Chief is Dr. Pimpimon Wongchaiya. The journal is undergoing the 3rd time of round 4 assessment to upgrade to TCI Tier 2.

2022-Present: The journal has changed its editor to Dr. Aranya Namwong, taking charge from 1 April 2022, with Dr. Krittapat Phonsai taking on the role of deputy editor of the journal. Summarizing the results of TCI's journal evaluation for the 3rd time, round 4. The results of the journal evaluation are still classified in TCI Base 2.
