Sport injuries of KKU sports team in The 39th Thai University Sports Games, 2011

Abstract
This study was designed to contextual study about sport injury of KKU sport players in The 39th Thai University Sports Game, 2001. 54 volunteer KKU sport player, age 21.0 ± 1.8 years, sport experience 5.9 ± 3.9 years were recruited. The player injury history and management, individual physical and sport training data before tournament were accessed via questionnaire1 and position and cause of injury during sport completion were accessed via questionair 2 at onsite sport clinic. The KKU player pre-test performance data were collected from Student Sport Organization and descriptive statistic data analysis were performed. The results showed that: pre-tournament the most of player (53.6 %) have injured lower extremity (especially knees and ankles), all of them (69.6 %) were chronic cases. During tournament, the position of sport injury was lower knee and ankle (90.0 %). The most onsite sport clinic treatments (62.5 %) were cold compression, ultrasonic therapy, stretching, and taping. Physical and sport training of KKU sport player were compose of: warm-up 30-60 min. (58.3 %), stretching less than 30 min. (76.6 %), training duration more than 60 min. per session (51.4 %), and more than 3 sessions per week (93.5 %), respectively.
