Abstract

Low vitamin D level has been found on breast cancer risk. However, there were only few studies reported on their prognostic impact. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the effect of serum vitamin D level on breast cancer prognosis. Serum hydroxy vitamin D level was detected in 302 cases of breast cancer diagnosed during 2011-2018 at National Cancer Institute, using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method. Our findings demonstrated that high level of 25(OH) vitamin D (>16ng/mL) was mainly found in the patients with early stage of breast cancer (P=0.042). Our findings suggested that low level of vitamin D might correlate with poor prognosis of breast cancer.
