วิจัยเชิงทำนายนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาระดับความตั้งใจในการคุมกำเนิดระยะยาว และปัจจัยที่มีผลต่อความตั้งใจในการคุมกำเนิดระยะยาวของสตรีตั้งครรภ์วัยรุ่นในจังหวัดเชียงราย กลุ่มตัวอย่างคือ สตรีตั้งครรภ์วัยรุ่นที่มาฝากครรภ์ จำนวน 116 ราย คัดเลือกตามความสะดวก เครื่องมือวิจัยประกอบด้วยแบบสอบถาม 1) ข้อมูลส่วนบุคคล 2) ความตั้งใจในการคุมกำเนิด ระยะยาว 3) ทัศนคติในการใช้การคุมกำเนิดระยะยาว 4) การคล้อยตามกลุ่มอ้างอิงในการใช้การคุมกำเนิดระยะยาว 5) การรับรู้การควบคุมพฤติกรรมการคุมกำเนิดระยะยาว และ 6) ความกลัวผลกระทบจากการคุมกำเนิดระยะยาว ค่าดัชนีความตรงตาม เนื้อหาเท่ากับ 1.00 และค่าความเชื่อมั่นเท่ากับ .93, .82, .94, .80 และ .85 ตามลำดับ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยสถิติพรรณนาและการวิเคราะห์ถดถอยพหุคูณ
ผลการวิจัยพบว่า กลุ่มตัวอย่างมีระดับความตั้งใจในการคุมกำเนิดระยะยาวปานกลาง (M = 53.02, SD = 25.85) ปัจจัยที่มีผลต่อความตั้งใจในการคุมกำเนิดระยะยาวได้อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ ได้แก่ บรรทัดฐานกลุ่มอ้างอิง (β = .428, p < .001) และการรับรู้การควบคุมพฤติกรรม (β = .218, P < .05) โดยปัจจัยทั้งหมด สามารถร่วมกันอธิบายความแปรปรวนของความตั้งใจในการคุมกำเนิดระยะยาวได้ร้อยละ 14.4 (Adjusted R2 = .144, F(5, 110) = 4.858, p < .001) เสนอแนะพัฒนาโปรแกรมส่งเสริมการรับรู้การควบคุมพฤติกรรมการคุมกำเนิด โดยมารดาและสามีเข้ามาเป็นส่วนร่วม เพื่อส่งเสริมความตั้งใจในการคุมกำเนิดระยะยาว
