การตรวจประเมินผู้บาดเจ็บเบื้องต้นและการจัดการทางการพยาบาล เป็นขั้นตอนสำคัญในระยะแรกของการประเมินและ การช่วยชีวิตผู้บาดเจ็บรุนแรง ซึ่งต้องอาศัยการทำงานที่เป็นระบบ รวดเร็ว แม่นยำ และการตัดสินใจให้การช่วยเหลือที่เหมาะสม ในระยะเวลาอันสั้น บทความนี้เป็นการนำเสนอการตรวจประเมินเบื้องต้น พยาธิสภาพการบาดเจ็บ วิธีการตรวจประเมิน การจัดการ ทางการพยาบาล และประเด็นที่มักถูกมองข้ามตามขั้นตอน ABCDEs เพื่อให้พยาบาลได้เพิ่มพูนความรู้ และพัฒนาทักษะในการตรวจ ประเมิน สามารถระบุปัญหาและจัดการภาวะคุกคามชีวิตที่อาจจะเกิดขึ้นหรือกำลังเกิดขึ้นกับผู้บาดเจ็บรุนแรงได้อย่างรวดเร็วและ มีประสิทธิภาพ
