การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อบรรยายประสบการณ์การทำหน้าที่สมาชิกสภาผู้แทนราษฎรของพยาบาลวิชาชีพ โดยใช้ ระเบียบวิธีการวิจัยแบบปรากฏการณ์วิทยาการตีความตามแนวคิดของ Heidegger ผู้ให้ข้อมูล คือ พยาบาลวิชาชีพที่มีประสบการณ์ การเป็นสมาชิกสภาผู้แทนราษฎร จำนวน 7 ราย เก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลด้วยวิธีการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึก การสังเกต การบันทึกภาคสนาม การรวบรวมเอกสารต่างๆ เช่น นิตยสาร เว็บไซต์ และ YouTube นำข้อมูลทั้งหมดมาประมวลและวิเคราะห์เนื้อหาตามวิธีการของ van Manen ผลการศึกษาประสบการณ์การทำหน้าที่สมาชิกสภาผู้แทนราษฎรของพยาบาลวิชาชีพ ประกอบด้วย 6 ประเด็น ได้แก่ 1) ใช้จรรยาบรรณพยาบาลทำงานในหน้าที่ 2) แนวคิดการพยาบาลที่มีใช้ได้ดีกับชุมชน 3) ร่วมเป็นกรรมาธิการด้านที่ตนให้ความ สนใจ 4) ร่างพระราชบัญญัติให้มีผลบังคับใช้เป็นกฎหมาย 5) ตั้งกระทู้สด-แห้งถามความสงสัย และ 6) อภิปรายไม่ไว้วางใจหาก ผลงานไม่บรรลุผล
