Effects of Using Simulation Game Based Learning to prepare Fourth-Year Air Force Student Nurses prior to Primary Medical Care Nursing Practice

This quasi-experimental study aimed to compare knowledge and self-confidence in primary medical care nursing practice between a group using simulation game-based learning and a group receiving regular preparation before and after the intervention. The sample consisted of 62 fourth-year Air Force Student Nurses. Data were collected using a knowledge assessment form on primary medical care for common community health conditions and a self-confidence assessment form for primary medical care nursing practice. Content validity was confirmed with an Index of Item–Objective Congruence (IOC) of 1.00, and reliability were a KR-20 coefficient of 0.75 and a Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of 0.84. Data were analyzed using independent t-test and paired t-test. The results revealed that the mean scores of knowledge and self-confidence in the group using Simulation Game-Based Learning after the experiment were significantly higher than before the experiment and higher than those of the group receiving conventional preparation at the .05 level of statistical significance.
