Abstract

The purposes of this retrospective research was to study the objective of studying the effects of basic electrocardiogram interpretation training for 31 outpatient nurses. This research was using the basic ECG and Knowledge of patient care by questionnaire. The content validity index of both questionnaires was .82 and verified by 3 experts. The statistic was including percentage, mean and standard deviation and t-test statistics. The results were showed OPD nurse after received the basic ECG training was 16.84 point (SD=2.30) that greater than the average score before training which was 8.03 point (SD=2.95) and were significantly increased after training at p-value <.05, (t = 13.41). The interpreting and reading basic ECG in normal and life-threatening situations is important. Patient assessment leads to a medical report, enabling patients to receive accurate, rapid, and timely examination and treatment. Training is provided to equip nurses with skills and knowledge in interpreting ECG results, enabling them to apply this knowledge in their work.
