Abstract

This quasi-experimental study employed a two-group pretest–posttest design to compare the perception of safety performance among nurses administering chemotherapy. A total of 50 participants were selected using purposive sampling and divided into an experimental group and a control group ,25 people per group. The research instruments consisted of a social support program using the Line application, and a questionnaire assessing nurses’ perceptions of safety practices. Instrument quality was with a content validity index of 0.93 and a Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of 0.97. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics (Paired t-test and Independent t-test). The research results revealed that the experimental group had the highest level of perceived safety performance after participating in the program (equation =4.78, SD=0.195), whereas the control group had a high level (equation =3.50, SD=0.234). The experimental group had a significantly higher score than the control group (p<.05) and showed significant improvement compared to their scores before participation (p<.05). The study found that the social support program using LINE application was effective in enhancing perceptions of compliance with safety regulations and participation in safety practices. It is recommended that administrators implement this program to strengthen competencies of nurses administering chemotherapy.
