This cross-sectional analytical study aimed to examine the influence of osteoporosis knowledge, blood sugar control, and support from family and society on the self-efficacy perception for osteoporosis prevention in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus patients among communities in Bangkok. The study was conducted in accordance with the concept of Self-efficacy theory. A sample group of 102 participants from 10 communities, including both males and females aged 35 to 70 years, was selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected during February to May 2024. Four research instruments include 1) General Information and Health Assessment 2) Osteoporosis knowledge questionnaire 3) Family and social support questionnaire 4) Osteoporosis Self-Efficacy Scale. Descriptive analysis and Multiple Regression Analysis were performed to analyse the data. The findings found that the majority of the sample were female (76.5%), with an average age of 64 years. Most participants had completed primary education (52.9%). The average blood sugar level was 160.26 mg/dL (SD = 60.994), and nearly 60% were unable to control their blood sugar levels. The osteoporosis knowledge, blood sugar control, and support from family and society collectively predicted self-efficacy in osteoporosis prevention among patients with type 2 diabetes, accounting for 42.1% of the variance (Adjusted R² = 0.421, F = 25.527, p < .01).
