Abstract

This is a quasi-experimental study with a two-group pretest-posttest design aim to study the effectiveness of a self-efficacy enhancement program in nursing education in conjunction with the FACEBOOK application among nursing students. The sample consists of 60 first-year nursing students for the academic year 2024, who meet the specified criteria. They are divided into an experimental group of 30 and a control group of 30. The research instruments include a general information questionnaire, a self-efficacy assessment, a readiness assessment for studying nursing, and a program to enhance self-efficacy in nursing studies, which incorporates the FACEBOOK application. This program includes successful experience, models or symbols, persuasive language, and emotional stimulation. All activities are conducted over 3 weeks. The questionnaires and program have been validated for content validity with a CVI of 1. The reliability of the assessment tools was found to be 0.89 and 0.90. Data analysis includes frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and comparison of study results using paired t-tests and independent t-tests.
It was found that the average scores of self-efficacy and readiness to study in the nursing field after participating in the program were significantly higher than before joining the program at a level of p < .001. Furthermore, after the experiment, the average scores of self-efficacy and readiness to study in the nursing field in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group at a level of p < .05. This program can be applied to enhance the awareness of competencies and readiness for nursing students. Keywords: Program, Self-efficacy, Nursing students’ readiness.
