Abstract

This quasi-experimental study evaluated the effectiveness of a motorcycle accident prevention program for undergraduate students, based on Protection Motivation Theory. Using G*Power, a sample size of 78 participants was established, divided equally into an experimental group and a comparison group. The experimental group participated in a 12-week prevention program, while the comparison group followed regular study routines. The research instruments included experimental tools and data collection instruments, both developed based on the Protection Motivation Theory. and analyzed with percentage, mean, standard deviation, Paired Samples T-Test, and Independent T-Test. Results showed a statistically significant increase in accident prevention behaviors in the experimental group post-intervention (p<.001). No significant behavioral change was observed in the comparison group. Post-intervention, the experimental group also displayed significantly higher accident prevention behaviors than the comparison group (p<.001).
