Effectiveness of TCCC Game “My Buddy Tong Lord” on Improving Knowledge of Tactical Combat Casualty Care among the Third-Year Class of the Royal Thai Air Force Nursing Students, in 2024 Academic Year

This study used quasi-experimental research with pretest-posttest control group. The objective of the study was to evaluate the effects of TCCC game “My buddy Tong Lord” on improving knowledge of tactical combat casualty care among the third-year class nursing students of the Royal Thai Air Force Nursing College, in 2024 academic year. Sixty two participants were recruited to the study and equally divided into 2 groups: an experimental group (n=31) and a control group (n=31). The instruments used in the study included data demographic record and questionnaire about tactical combat casualty care knowledge. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Chi-square test, independent t-test, Mann-Whitney U test, and Wilcoxon signed rank test.
After receiving the intervention, the findings showed that the mean score of tactical combat casualty care knowledge of all participants were significantly higher than before starting program (p<.001). In addition, the mean score of tactical combat casualty care knowledge of the experimental group were significantly higher than that of the control group (p<.05).
The results indicated that the TCCC game “My buddy Tong Lord” can increase knowledge of tactical combat casualty care among the third-year class nursing students of the Royal Thai Air Force nursing college, in 2024 academic year. Therefore, the TCCC game “My buddy Tong Lord” should be applied as an instructional media in classes of military tactical nursing to improve learning effectiveness of tactical combat casualty care among the Air Force nursing students.
