Lessons Learned from the “Project on Education Development and Enhancing Educational Opportunities Through Online Systems for Children and Youth in Rural and Remote Areas” Using Evidence-Based Approach

This research was triangular mixed-method research. The objectives were: 1) to study the current status, desired status, and needs of the “Project on Education Development and Enhancing Educational Opportunities Through Online Systems for Children and Youth in Rural and Remote Areas” and 2) to develop guidelines for the development of the “Project on Education Development and Enhancing Educational Opportunities Through Online Systems for Children and Youth in Rural and Remote Areas” using empirical evidence. The sample consists of 13 administrators and teachers and 222 students, selected by stratified random sampling from participating schools. The research instruments are questionnaires and interview forms, with an item-objective congruence index of 0.6–1 and Cronbach Alpha Coefficient Reliability of 0.94 (25 items). Data were analyzed using percentages, means, standard deviations, needs index, and content analysis.
The research revealed that: 1) the highest-ranking needs of the project are teaching media, followed by benefits and learning process organization, respectively, 2) the project development guidelines include lesson content design, lesson content structure analysis, learning process organization, teaching media, student learning assessment, and the internet network system. The conditions for success are the integration of cooperation between the government and private sectors and the use of appropriate media and equipment.
