The Development Of A Promoting Model For Child Development At The Age Of 3-5 Years Through A Participatory Learning Process in Sakon

This research and development study was conducted to meet the following objectives: 1) to study the process and develop a model for promoting child development in the age group of 3-5 years; 2) to study the process of implementing the model for promoting child development through a participatory learning process under the cooperation of two ministries in Sakon Nakhon Province with 78 pairs of children aged 3-5 years and their parents. The program for promoting child development and positive discipline with family participation, an emotional intelligence assessment form, a form for measuring skills and ability in assessing and promoting child development, and a child development assessment form were used to assess 5 areas. The data obtained were analyzed with descriptive statistics and t-test.
The findings revealed that the model for promoting child development in the age group of 3-5 years through a participatory learning process under the cooperation of two ministries in Sakon Nakhon Province caused 88.46% of the children to have age-appropriate development. Emotional intelligence was 2.78 points higher than before using the model. Mean individual and overall scores for every aspect of upbringing skills to promote development and emotional intelligence were higher after using the program than before using the program with a 6.06-point increase overall.The variances in scores were statistically significant (p<.05).
Based on the findings, parents should be encouraged to use the program in comprehensive child care to ensure that more continuous child development is promoted.
