Development of an Organizational Learning Measurement Tool for First-Line Nursing Managers in Tertiary Hospitals

Abstract

 The purposes of this research were developed and factor analysis of a tool to measured organizational learning for First-line Managers in tertiary hospitals. The Samples was 311 First-line Nurse Managers in tertiary hospitals. Multistage random sampling was used , First using cluster sampling by region and using simple sampling to included sample. Research instrument was a questionnaire including 16 items. Content validity was confirmed by a panel of 5 experts. The CVI was equal to .87. Reliability of the questionnaire was tested using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient yielding a value of .93. Data were analyzed by using principal component factor analysis. The orthogonal varimax rotation was applied.
The major findings were as found that the final organizational learning in nursing organization tool in tertiary hospitals have eigen value according to criteria include two components as followed 1) Understanding information innovation and research (6 items) and 2) Sharing knowledge and information (3 items). Factor loading was .31 to .84. The total variance accounted for was 63.62%.
First line managers can used organizational learning tool to evaluated and development guideline to used information to building innovation and research in nursing organization
