Keywords:
nursing activity analysis, breast augmentation surgery, lean managementAbstract
This descriptive research aimed to analyze the cost of nursing activities based on routine care and those on lean management for clients undergoing one-day surgery breast augmentation in a private clinic. The target population consisted of 15 reports on personnel costs, and the sample group comprised 60 cases (30 routine care and 30 lean management) selected using purposive sampling. Two sets of research instruments comprised 17 lean activities and 16 routine activities. The content validity was 1.0, and the observed reliability was 1.0. The statistics used included frequency, percentage, standard deviation, and mean. The research found that: 1) The average cost of nursing activities based on routine care was 2,988,496.13 Baht. 2) The average cost of nursing activities based on lean management care was 2,908,072.97 Baht. 3) The average cost for lean management was reduced by 80,423.16 Baht, and the time was reduced by 160.32 minutes. The highest costs for both types of care were for nursing activities during surgery, while the lowest were for pre-surgery activities. The research results indicate that nursing activities based on lean management could reduce costs and time management, as evidenced by the empirical data while maintaining the quality of nursing and standard in private clinics. Thus, organizational administrators should consider implementing lean management reduce costs and manage time to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of health services.
