The purpose of this quasi-experimental research was to study the effects of awareness development program on unwanted pregnancy prevention among junior high school students in Surat Thani province. These include a measure of awareness and decision to choose prevent early pregnancy Cronbach’s alpha coefficients for internal consistency were 0.76 and 0.98, respectively. The efficiency index of program was 80/80. Data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, Independent t-test and One-way repeated measures ANOVA. The result revealed as follows: no significant difference in experimental and control group before receiving the program. However, the experimental group had higher mean scores of awareness and behavior for preventing early pregnancy than the control group insignificantly (p<0.05). The awareness scores of the experimental group after intervention in the 6 and 12 weeks of the program were significantly higher than those of the experimental group before intervention in the program (p<0.05). This research demonstrates that the developed program effectively enhances awareness and prevents unwanted pregnancy.
