Abstract

The pandemic of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) continues to affect teaching and learning arrangement planned in the nursing program at the Royal Thai Army Nursing College (RTANC). Nursing instructors and students are required to adjust in many ways including teaching and learning strategies to respond to the changes resulted from emerging diseases. Medical and Surgical Nursing Department has considered adjusting the training approach in the Medical Field Service course from the original on-site training in the field area of RTANC to online scenario-based training through Zoom application for the 98 second-year nursing students, class 57. The training course consists of 3 steps: preparation, training, and evaluation. The evaluation results revealed that the mean score of knowledge and skills of medical field services for all students was 73.19 out of 100 which met the course requirement (Grade S = Satisfied). The students self-reported learning outcomes based on the 5 standards consistent with the National Higher Education Qualifications Framework showed that the average score was at a high level (gif.latex?\bar{x} = 4.08 / 5, SD = 0.27).
