The Effect of Participatory Learning with PBRI Model 2022 Program on Knowledge Attitude and Stroke Prevention Behavior among Village Health Volunteers

The purpose of this quasi-experimental with two group pretest-posttest design aim to examine the effect of Participatory Learning with PBRI Model 2022 on Knowledge, Attitude and Stroke Prevention Behaviors among Village health volunteers (VHVs). The samples consisted of 70 VHVs put into experimental and comparative groups which consisted of 35 persons in each groups. The 12-week participatory learning with PBRI Model 2022 consists of 1) an experience stage, 2) a reflective stage, 3) a conceptual stage, and 4) an applied concept.
Research instruments consists of Knowledge Attitude and Stroke Prevention Behaviors questionnaires. The content validity was 0.96, 1.0, 1.0 and reliability was 0.78, 0.98 and 0.95, respectively. Those were analyzed using descriptive statistics and t-test. The results showed that after enrolling in the program, the mean scores of Knowledge, Attitude and Stroke Prevention Behavior of the experimental group were lower than those of before enrolling in the program and lower than the comparative group at p-valve < .05. Knowledge, Attitude and Stroke Prevention Behavior scores of the experimental group were higher than before enrolling the program and higher than the comparative group at p-valve <.05. Therefore, health promotion and stroke prevention by implementing the Participatory Learning with PBRI Model 2022 program to develop the VHV’s potential in terms of knowledge, attitudes, screening and health behavior modification to prevent Stroke for NCDs patients such as diabetes and hypertension in the community.
