Factors Affecting Mental Health Problem of Nursing Students

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to study 1) the mental health problem of nursing students. 2) the relationships among emotional quotient, relationship with friends, family relationship, social support, and mental health problem of nursing students 3) the factors of emotional quotient, relationship with friends, family relationshipr social support affection to the mental health problem of nursing students. The Sample was 278 participant. into the study. Research instruments were scales for emotional quotient, relationship with friends, family relationship, social support and mental health problems. Statistical methods used to analyze the data were percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson product-moment correlation and multiple regression analysis.

The results of study were as follows: 1. The level of the mental health problem of nursing students in Police Nursing College was rare. 2. There were significantly correlation between emotional quotient, relationship with friends, family relationship, social support and mental health problem of nursing students at .05 level 3.It were found that the predictive factors affecting mental health problem of nursing students were emotional quotient, family relationship, relationship with friends and social support at .05 level empowerment at the percentage of 59.1. Suggestion : Educational institutions should promote a learning style which focus on activities that improve emotional quotient, relationship between friends, family and social support to prevent the mental health problems in nursing students.
