Abstract

The project-based learning is one of the most effective learning methods in the twentieth century. Teachers are considered the sustainability of learning through projects and the development of reflective skills. Students should be collective learners through projects because they are working on real-time problems. Lesson-learnt from sufficient economy projects provide especially reflective skills. This quasi-experimental research aimed to compare scores of learning topics in sufficient economy of nursing students before and after using the project-based learning technique. Another objective was to observe reflective skills of nursing students during oral presentation. Samples were 106 nursing students in the first year, academic year 2018 of Boromarajonani College of Nursing Phra-putthabat. The tools used in the study were the project-based learning guideline based on King Rama IV sufficient economy aspects and an observation guideline for reflective skills. Students were divided into 11 groups and worked collaboratively to create projects reflecting their knowledge. During project presentation, teachers used reflective questions to develop reflective skills. Students could ask questions and share their ideas. Finally, self-evaluation was carried out by individual writing on their clear perception. The benefits from students’ report showed how to improve reflective skills. Based on project findings, this learning method fully addresses for a college context. Reflective skills of students are developed through the project-based learning. The article focuses on students’ perception of its advantages and disadvantage in relation to the Project-Based Learning professional development.
