This research aimed to 1.) compare the mean scores of the practical scores and knowledge about promoting dental health for protecting dental caries before and after treatment between the experimental group and the control group 2.) compare the mean scores of practical scores and knowledge about promoting dental health for protecting dental caries before and after treatment and follow-up phase of the experimental group and the control group. The sample was selected by purposive sampling students from grade 1: an experimental group of 25 students and a control group of 25 students. The research instruments were plans comprising of knowledge about promoting dental health for protecting dental caries with application of self-regulations and the evaluation form of the practical test and knowledge about promoting dental health for protecting dental caries. The data obtained were analyzed by using percentage, frequency, S.D, t-test, One-way ANOVA and LSD.
The findings were as follows: 1.) The average scores of practical test and knowledge about promoting dental health for protecting dental caries before treatment of the experimental group and the control group were not different. After treatment, the average scores of practical test and knowledge about promoting dental health for protecting dental caries of the experimental group were found significantly higher than the control group at the .05 level 2.) The average scores of practical test and knowledge about promoting dental health for protecting dental caries of the experimental group after treatment were found significantly higher than before treatment at the .05 level . For the follow-up phase and after treatment , the average scores of knowledge test were found no significant differences while the average scores of practical test were found significantly better than after treatment at the .05 level .
