Abstract

In toothless elderly, the denture quality and masticatory efficiency was correlated with overall denture satisfaction and oral health -related quality of life.  A severely resorbed mandibular ridge effect the denture quality by decreasing denture stability and retention.  The objective of this article is to describe clinical approach for fabrication of complete denture in a severely resorbed mandible patient. A 60-year-old female patient presented with chief complaint of difficulty of mastication, loosing all teeth for many years. The dentist used the pressure impression technique or functional impression technique for mandibular resorbed ridge, monoplane occlusion and non-anatomical tooth. One month after treatment, patient was adaptable in using complete denture and was more socially confident.
