    ความปลอดภัยของผู้ป่วย (Patient safety) คือการที่ผู้ป่วยปลอดภัยจากการได้รับอันตรายจาก
การใช้บริการสุขภาพ หรือการที่ผู้ป่วยไม่ได้รับอันตรายหรือมีโอกาสได้รับอันตรายจากบริการโดยไม่จำเป็น ซึ่งมีความสำคัญต่อระบบบริการสุขภาพ อาจารย์พยาบาลมีบทบาทสำคัญในการจัดการเรียนการสอนทาง
การพยาบาลทั้งภาคทฤษฎีและการปฏิบัติจริงกับผู้ป่วย มีความจำเป็นอย่างยิ่งที่ต้องให้ความสำคัญกับความปลอดภัยผู้ป่วย ตลอดจนการนำแนวคิด กระบวนการและเป้าหมายด้านความปลอดภัยผู้ป่วย ไปสู่
การปฏิบัติและสอนให้นักศึกษาพยาบาลได้เรียนรู้ในเรื่องความปลอดภัยผู้ป่วยทั้งทฤษฎีและปฏิบัติ
ตลอดจนเรียนรู้จากสถานการณ์จริง เพื่อหล่อหลอมให้นักศึกษาพยาบาลให้ความสำคัญในเรื่องความปลอดภัยผู้ป่วย ทั้งในด้านความรู้  ทักษะและทัศนคติ และเมื่อมีความผิดพลาดเกิดขึ้น ต้องปรับเปลี่ยนวัฒนธรรม
จากการตำหนิ หรือการกล่าวโทษ มาใช้วิธีการสอนที่กระตุ้นให้นักศึกษาพยาบาลได้เกิดการเรียนรู้จาก
ความผิดพลาดนั้นโดยส่งเสริมศักยภาพให้กับนักศึกษาสามารถทบทวนเหตุการณ์และวิเคราะห์รากสาเหตุของการเกิดความผิดพลาดนั้น

Abstract
    Patient safety is that the patient safe from the danger of using health service or that patients are not dangerous or a danger from service without the necessary. Which are important for health service system. Instructors are  an important role in teaching and learning in nursing, both theoretical and practical to patients. Necessary to give attention to patient safety as well as the concept.The process and the target patient safety into practice. And teach nursing students learn about patient safety in both theory and practice. As well as learning from the real situation. To mold students focus on patient safety, both in terms of the knowledge, skill and attitude, and when error occur to change the culture of blame or punish. Use teaching methods to stimulate students to learn from the mistakes of nursing. By empowering students to review and analyze the root cause event can cause of the error.
