Development of Dashboard Innovation to Enhance the Process Evaluation of Health Promotion Indicators at Risk of Failing to Meet Targets in Suphanburi Province

Abstract

Background: Evaluating health promotion outcomes at the local level continues to face challenges with data quality and integration, leading to inefficient use of information for decision-making. In Suphan Buri Province, several health promotion indicators have not met required benchmarks, highlighting the need to develop innovations to support systematic monitoring and evaluation.

Objectives: This study aimed to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of a dashboard for monitoring and evaluating health promotion indicators in Suphan Buri province.

Methods: This research and development study had three phases. First, it involved data analysis from the health and medical warehouse, a survey of 137 public health staff, and a brainstorming session with 31 group members. Second, the team developed a dashboard using Looker Studio and Google Sheets, collaborating with 31 group members and 20 experts. Third, 174 users evaluated the effectiveness with an educational assessment tool and trend analysis. Data analysis used descriptive statistics and content analysis.

Results: Prior to the development of the dashboard, several health promotion indicators did not meet the benchmarks, especially those related to maternal and child health, nutrition, and non-communicable diseases. After implementation, users reported a high level of satisfaction (𝑥̅=3.99, SD=0.61), and several indicators showed improved performance.

Conclusion: The dashboard innovation enhanced the effectiveness of monitoring, evaluation, and decision-making processes for health promotion at the local level in a systematic way.
